In the warmer weather, most of my house plants live on the porches. Even in winter they seldom spend more than a week at a time inside. I really enjoy having plants inside, but they never seem to do well if they are in for a long time.  African violets and office ivy are exceptions, of course.

Christmas Cactus generally does very well for me.  I've had these two plants for years and have taken several cuttings to start more. I have one pot with cuttings from each color.  That's a fun one when it's in bloom.
