These shrubs are all over our 4 acres.  In the cultivated areas, where they get more sun, they grow rampant and I have to keep them under control with pruning.
  Evidently this is something they like as these specimens just take over and get more aggressive each year.

The Great Pokeweed
phytolacca americana L.
These plants grow wild around the house.  I seldom find them out in the wooded areas, but have to cut them back along driveways, in flower beds & lawn.
The picture above shows not only the berries, but the insignificant little white blossoms. Look closely, right middle and upper right corner.
